Welcome to St Neots Hockey Club

The Saints are a family friendly club, based on the Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire border, offering men's, women's, mixed and junior teams, plus fun sessions.

  • Returning to hockey
  • New to the sport
  • Joining our Sunday Academy sessions
  • Can offer help off the pitch

We would love to hear from you, so please do contact us or come along to a training session - Link to training times.

St Neots Hockey Club abides by the Respect Code of Ethics and Behaviour set by England Hockey

The Code of Ethics and Behaviour outlines the expected levels of behaviour for everyone involved in hockey. Although we are responsible for setting standards, each member of the hockey family has a responsibility to ensure equal access and opportunity for all.

Does the code apply to me?

Yes - if you are involved in the game at any level, then the code applies to you.

What is the purpose of the code?

England Hockey is responsible for setting the standards and values that apply at every level. By sharing the code across the sport, they believe they can uphold the highest standards of integrity and ensure that the reputation of the sport is - and remains - at a high level.

The code is split into relevant sections, depending on your role:

  • General Code of Behaviour
  • Players
  • Young People
  • Clubs/Associations/Leagues/Staff
  • Coaches/Managers/Teachers/Leaders/Adult helpers
  • Spectators and Parents
  • Umpires and Officials
  • Medical Practitioners

St Neots Hockey Club - Members' Charter

Members of SNHC are expected to contribute to the club in the following ways:

• I expect to remain in one team/squad but I am prepared to move from one squad to another, according to my playing ability.

• I update my Captain with my availability and don’t drop out of matches without notice.

• I play my games in a competitive but sporting manner, giving umpires no reason to card me.

• I stay after games to socialise with my teammates, the opposition and players from other teams.

• I will wear club kit for all matches.

• I am aware that I should wear appropriate protective equipment eg Shin pads and gumshields.

• I will respect the opposition, umpires, coaches, club officials, supporters and teammates.

• I volunteer for activities other than playing on match day and recognise that my participation in club affairs is expected to extend outside my team arena.

• I attend social events organised by the club, especially the awards night.

• I recognise the importance of training and will try to attend if possible.

• I help collect and put away equipment after training and matches.

• I support fundraising activities either directly or by giving my time.

• I understand that SNHC is one club encompassing senior and junior players of all ability levels.

Equality at our Club

England Hockey strives to ensure that the game is played, watched, delivered, governed and enjoyed by all.

St Neots Hockey Club are committed to the principles of fair treatment for everyone, embracing differences and creating a culture where everyone is welcome.

To achieve that, St Neots Hockey Club have adopted the England Hockey policies related to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Equality Policy

This policy is aimed at all those actively involved in any aspect of hockey activities, whether that be as an employee, volunteer, member or participant. Details of the equality policy can be found in Equality Policy

Policy And Procedures for Trans or Transgender Hockey Player

Under current English legislation, hockey, as a gender-affected sport, may be regulated by England Hockey in respect of the participation of a trans person. They use the term trans or transgender to describe those people who, as defined by the Equality Act 2010, share the protected characteristic of gender reassignment and are described in the legislation as transsexual people.

St Neots Hockey Club will refer to the England Hockey policy and procedures to permit trans people to compete in their affirmed gender and to protect those who may be staff, coaches, officials, volunteers or spectators, and who may be trans people, or perceived to be so, or associated with them, such as family members. The policy and procedures can be found under Transgender Guidance
