St Neots Women’s 1s got the better of the Women’s 2s for the second time this season as they ran out 7-1 winners.
The two sides sit at opposite ends of the table and the 1s showed why they lead the way.
Marie Quintilla, Louise Taylor and Tanya Sargeant all scored braces, while Claudia Law also got on the scoresheet.
The 2s leading scorer Kira Herbert picked up her goal midway through the second half but it wasn’t enough to disrupt the 1s momentum.
The 3s were beaten 3-0 at home to title challenging St Ives 3s.
Neither Saints 4s or St Ives 4s could find a breakthrough in their 0-0 draw.
Both teams created credible chances but couldn’t find the way to goal thanks to excellent goalkeeping.
The Men’s 1s were beaten 5-2 away to March Town 2s.
Saints got the better of March earlier in the season and got off to a great start when Phil McMorris scored.
The hosts came back to take the lead before Brad Forsdick equalised from another short corner.
March took hold of the game from there on and scored three more times before the break.
The 2s beat their promotion rivals Wisbech Town 3s 3-1 and improve their chances of going up.
Chris Butterworth scored Saints’ first goal before Chris Mailes got the second from an assist by debutant Matt Emery.
The third came from their leading scorer James Findlay, giving them all three points and therefore breaking away from the visitors in the table.
At the other end of the table, the 3s were narrowly defeated by March Town 2s.
Nick Hargrave and Anthony Holmes were on a target for Saints.
With no league game this week, the Men’s 4s played in a friendly against Blueharts 7s.
An exciting game for Tim Sutton saw him claim player of the match, have a fantastic goal disallowed and score an own goal in what ended as a 1-0 loss for Saints.
