St Neots Women’s 1s made it four wins from four as they beat City of Peterborough 3s 4-0.

As with previous weeks, Saints were the dominant side and opened the scoring through Tanya Sargeant.

Ella Roberts doubled Saints’ lead before player of the match Louise Taylor made it three.

Saints had scored at least four goals in every match this season and achieved that again when Roberts got her second.

Another win and another clean sheet ensured Saints stay top of the table.

The 2s continue to look for their first points of the season after a 3-1 defeat to Cambridge South 3s, Captain Kira Herbert with the goal. The 3s played out a goalless draw with March Town 1s, while the 4s lost 2-0 away to Cambridge South 6s.

The Men’s 1s long unbeaten run finally came to an end as they lost 1-0 to Cambridge South 2s.

Saints instantly won the ball from the start and almost took the lead within half a minute, but Phil McMorris put his shot wide.

In a really competitive game, both sides created a number of good chances, but couldn’t convert any.

With the first half ending goalless, the game could quite easily go either way and it did soon after the break when an aerial pass was intercepted by South, whose counter attack ended with a scrappy goal.

Saints still looked strong in possession and pushed for the equaliser to keep their unbeaten start to the season alive, but couldn’t find the goal.

A narrow defeat for Saints that ends a run stretching back to October last year, but they remain third in the league.

The 2s and 3s faced each other for the first time this season. Despite their slow start, the 2s did eventually run out 2-0 winners. Andrew Pope and Rob Hoye scored the goals. The 4s picked up a point in the 1-1 draw against Bourne Deeping 4s. Chris Bates with the goal for Saints.
